What’s The Deal With Maradona Wearing 2 Watches At The World Cup?
July 12th, 2010 by Watches
I must admit, I got caught up in the 2010 World Cup. And one of the more interesting characters and soccer/futbol icons, Maradona, drew most of my attention. I’m looking at this short man standing on the sideline and notice that he’s wearing 2 watches.
So I started to look further into this, and find an article that explained why Maradona wears these 2 watches. Know as a bit of an eccentric, Maradona, wears the 2 watches, to keep time in 2 different time zones.
Yes, I know I know, there are watches that keep more then one time zone. But didn’t I mention the man is eccentric? He use to wear 2 Rolex Watches. But now his double wristed watch of choice is a Hublot.
But not just any Hublot, a limited edition Hublot Big Bang. But as I dive even deeper into this subject, I find out the Hublot made a watch specifically for Maradona.
The limited edition Hublot Big Bang Maradona Watches has the legends image on the caseback, and his signature on the face. The image is of Maradona in a post goal celebration, and the watch comes in 2 styles. I guess for both wrists (chuckle). Now does this make sense to wear 2 watches? The watch was named after the eccentric soccer legend, it doesn’t have to.
